Tire Racks for Warehouses and Shops
Our tire racks are selective rack sized for tires. Tires stand upright in a row on each pair of beams, so every tire stays visible and within reach, and nothing gets crushed at the bottom of a pile.
We pair new uprights with used beams to keep the price down. Tell us your tire sizes, how many you carry and your ceiling height, and we’ll quote the rack and the freight together.

Planning Guide
How to Size a Tire Rack
Height
Match the upright height to your ceiling and to how high your staff can safely reach. Lower levels are usually loaded by hand, upper levels by forklift or ladder.
Level Spacing
Set the beams so the tallest tire on each level clears the beam above with room to lift it out. Light truck and truck tires need more space than passenger tires.
Depth
18″ frames suit passenger and light truck tires standing on their tread. Use 24″ frames for big truck tires.
Beam Length
Longer beams hold more tires per level but cost more and need a bigger face for the same load. Tell us your typical tire width and we’ll work out the count per level.

| Access | By hand on lower levels, forklift above | Forklift only | By hand |
| Best fit | Tire warehouses, dealers, distributors | Seasonal swings, changing floor plans | Auto shops with smaller counts |

Buying Used
What We Check on Used Tire Rack
Used tire rack works as well as new when the steel is sound. Age isn’t the problem; damage is. These are the checks we run before used beams or frames leave the yard.
-
Upright Bases and Columns
Look for bends, twists or forklift damage, especially at the base.
-
Beam Sag
A beam that bows in the middle has been overloaded. Pass on it.
-
Welds and Connectors
Check for cracked welds and missing or bent safety locks.
-
Load Labels
Where the maker’s label is still on, it tells you the rated capacity.

FAQ
Tire Rack Questions
What type of rack is best for storing tires?
It depends on volume and how the tires move. Tire racks with beam levels suit warehouses and dealers with steady stock. Portable stack racks suit seasonal swings, since a forklift can move them and they nest when empty. Steel shelving works for shops picking smaller counts by hand. See our stack racks page for the portable option.
Are used tire racks safe for heavy loads?
Yes, when the steel is undamaged. These racks are built for constant loading, so age alone isn’t a concern. We check uprights, beams, welds and connectors before used rack leaves our Plantsville, CT yard.
What should I check before buying a tire rack?
Four things: the upright height against your ceiling and reach, beam spacing for the tire sizes you carry, rated capacity per level, and aisle space for how you’ll load it.
Do you have racks for big truck tires?
Yes. We carry 24″ deep tire rack for truck tires. Call 1-800-826-5326 for heights and beam lengths in stock.
Can I add on to tire rack I already have?
Often, yes, if your uprights use a compatible beam connection. Send us a photo of your upright and beam end with the sizes, and we’ll check the fit before you order.
